At Make Another Ending, we believe no one is defined by how their story started. Our mission is to walk alongside individuals, families, churches, and communities as they build a new future marked by healing, hope, and purpose.
We serve those impacted by domestic violence, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, immigration trauma, and systemic barriers — especially single parents and underserved populations — by connecting them with life-changing services and support.
Centered on Jesus as the source of healing and restoration, we combine evidence-based clinical practices with biblical truth to help people grow beyond trauma and become who God created them to be.
Make Another Ending (MAE) was named in honor of our biological mother, Brenda Mae, whose life was deeply impacted by domestic violence and intimate partner abuse. As her children, we witnessed the cycles she endured — leaving abusive relationships, seeking shelter, living with family, beginning services, and, at times, returning to unsafe situations.
Although she passed away from ovarian cancer in 2020, the long-term effects of domestic violence remained evident in her physical health, emotional well-being, and strained relationships. Her story is a reminder that abuse leaves lasting wounds far beyond what others may see.
MAE’s mission is also shaped by lived experience. Founder Falicia Miller is a survivor of labor trafficking during her teenage years and later worked in environments where exploitation was prevalent. She went on to serve survivors of human trafficking during her clinical residency in Indianapolis for over four years. MAE also honors the memory of a close friend who became involved in sex work and later died by suicide.
Growing up surrounded by instability, abuse, and fractured family systems gave us firsthand understanding of the fear, stress, and overwhelming challenges families face when trying to start over.
Through MAE, we honor the lives of those we have loved and lost to domestic violence, exploitation, addiction, illness, and despair — individuals who did not get the chance to create a different ending to their story. By walking alongside others in their healing journey, we keep their memories alive and help survivors build safer, healthier, and hope-filled futures.
Your support turns education into prevention, compassion into practical resources, and hope into sustainable change.
Whether we are equipping a pastor to recognize and respond to abuse, helping a child access education, supporting a genocide survivor and their family, or creating a pathway to safety and employment for a woman in crisis, every partnership helps individuals and communities Make Another Ending.
